Quwwat Madrasah
Our dedicated teachers, imams and volunteers who serve the madrasah and the wider community.
Head Teacher & Coordinator
Moulana Khalid Ibrahim was born in Preston, U.K. He did his early studies at Deepdale Primary School and Quwwatul Islam Madrasah, before studying at the seminary Jamiatul Ilm Wal Huda in Blackburn, graduating in 2005. He has since been involved in the management team at the darul uloom and Quwwat Education Centre, and is our madrasah head teacher.
Since 2011 he has been involved in establishing and coordinating an Early Years provision for the local community, Little Sparkles Nursery, which he has led to Outstanding Ofsted inspections. Alongside management, Moulana Khalid leads workshops and gives regular talks at Quwwatul Islam Masjid, and is actively involved in charity work nationally and internationally. He is also the author of A Child's Gift, a renowned du'a book for young madrasah children.
Head Imam
Moulana Ismail was born in Bharkodra, India, and was among the first batch of students to enrol at Darul Uloom Kantharia. After completing his Hifz and Alimiyyah at Darul Uloom Kantharia in 1976, he studied further Hadith at the famous seminary of Darul Uloom Deoband, and has been involved in teaching Maktab ever since.
Moulana Ismail arrived in the UK in 1979 and has led the community of Quwwatul Islam with inspirational leadership, serving as head Imam for over 35 years. Alongside being Imam he has taught at our madrasah throughout — including teaching our head teacher Moulana Khalid as a young boy. He is an instrumental pillar of support and spiritual guidance for the community and beyond. We pray Allah preserves him and lengthens his shadow over us for years to come. Ameen.
