A madrasah education gives your child a strong foundation in the Qur'an, Islamic knowledge and good character, taught by specially trained teachers in a safe, nurturing environment. Alongside their schooling, your child learns to read the Qur'an, understand the fundamentals of their faith, and grow into a confident, practising Muslim — supported by a community that has served Preston families since 1962.

Students are organised into small groups, and all subjects are taught by specially trained teachers. Rather than one teacher teaching every subject, teachers move from classroom to classroom, so students learn each subject from a specialist.

At present we have an average of 18 children per class in our Arabic and Islamic Studies classes, with an additional teaching assistant in some classes.

Mainstream classes operate between 5pm and 7pm, and the Hifz class operates from 5pm to 7.45pm. Timings differ for different year groups.

The madrasah is managed by Preston Muslim Society, Quwwatul Islam. The head teacher and coordinator of Quwwat Education Centre is Moulana Khalid Ibrahim.

Due to high demand, the madrasah operates an admissions criteria. Please contact the office, or apply through our admissions form, and our team will explain the details.

Demand for madrasah places is very high, and our new intake is usually full six months before the start of the new madrasah year. Application forms are available between February and April. Online forms are available on our website — if you have any trouble applying, please contact us and our admin team will assist.

Parents are welcome to visit to discuss their child's progress, but madrasah policy requires all visitors to report to the office and, in most cases, book an appointment. This avoids unnecessary interruption to classes and helps keep a safe, secure learning environment. Due to high demand, a parent tour during operational hours is not possible; our annual Parent Induction days are the times when a visit is possible.

Yes. Once all applications are finalised, we expect all parents to attend an induction programme. Key people are introduced and madrasah processes are explained, and the induction evening gives parents an opportunity to ask the management any questions.

Yes, and alhamdulillah we have some very generous donors. However, all donations must be Lillah only and given with the knowledge that the money will be used in one of our many projects. For any fundraising, all monies collected for a particular charity or project are only donated as specified when collected.

If you have any complaints or suggestions concerning the madrasah, please do not hesitate to approach Moulana Khalid. If you are not happy with the outcome you may wish to contact a member of the Madrasah Committee. All complaints are dealt with in line with our complaints policy.
